Omar Rashad Bradley Jr., the son of the esteemed former Mayor Omar Bradley, has embarked on a remarkable campaign to become the next Mayor of Compton. With a refreshing blend of honesty and transparency, he has effectively communicated to voters the compelling reasons why he stands out as the most qualified candidate to lead this dynamic city.
His father’s legacy of preserving Compton as a financially stable, thriving community lends weight to Omar Jr.’s candidacy.
Deeply rooted in Compton, Omar Rashad Bradley Jr. is a proud third-generation resident of the city. His educational journey began at El Segundo Elementary, now known as Dr. Ronald E. McNair Elementary School. He progressed through various institutions, including First Christian Day School, St. Paul Elementary School, Hostler Jr. High School, and Lynwood High School. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, Omar attended Compton Community College and furthered his education at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and the University of Phoenix. Omar holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Driven by an aspiration for continuous growth, he is pursuing a professional doctoral degree in Business Administration, demonstrating his commitment to both personal and professional excellence and his dedication to serving the community of Compton.
Mr. Bradley is a former employee of Compton Community College in the Upward Bound Math and Science program, which allows students to complete their general studies before graduating from high school. This allowed the students to graduate from college two years ahead of schedule. Omar also worked in the EOP&S program, helping student mothers find jobs and childcare opportunities during their collegiate matriculation.
Omar Jr. hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father Omar Bradley Sr., one of the best and beloved Mayors of Compton. He did an outstanding job as Mayor. He kept the books straight and provided many jobs, businesses, and entertainment for the city. He made Compton a city to be proud of and to love visiting. Omar Jr. can learn a lot from his father, and it’s obvious from the way he speaks that he has already learned the secrets to success in Compton. Voters will make an excellent choice when they choose Omar Rashad Bradley Jr.
Omar Rashad Bradley’s goal for Compton is to use his education and experience working with young adults and single mothers to help Compton residents obtain jobs and opportunities in the public and private sectors. I also plan to lower property taxes, increase city revenues, hire over 300 new employees, inject new jobs and business into the economy, while fixing our broken infrastructure, improving our parks, cleaning our water supply, and tackling the housing and homelessness problem with a plan tailored for Compton alone.
