Resources to help families build and protect their intergenerational wealth were provided to local residents for neighborhood revitalization in Los Angeles.

Compton, June 13, 2026: As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen communities and help families build intergenerational wealth, NHS was proud to host The Legacy Summit with a Juneteenth celebration, in partnership with Councilwoman Deidre Duhart, on June 13th, 2026 at the NHS Center for Sustainable Communities (CSC) in Compton.

The Legacy Summit provided workshops for the community on intergenerational wealth building, including Family Estate Planning, Small Business, HOPE Homebuyer & Real Estate 101, and Don’t Move, Improve! Disaster resources for wildfire survivors were also available.

The Juneteenth celebration included live music, food trucks, local vendors, entertainment, and family-friendly activities in honor of the upcoming National Holiday. The gathering featured community favorite Storm Burger Food Truck, ASB Kitchen, The Block Party Band, California Blueprint Drumline, Bridges of Power (interactive drum circle), local artist Mr. Wash, and more. Students from NHS’ EMS Corps Program offered health and wellness services, such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks, for the community.

For over 42 years, NHS has been serving families of all backgrounds in underserved and diverse neighborhoods throughout the LA region with community development, affordable homeownership and neighborhood redevelopment services.
