ALL-STAR GOSPEL CELEBRATION KICKED OFF NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND

An incredible and inspirational night of Gospel music kicked off the Los Angeles NBA All-Star Weekend. On Thursday, February 12th, Faithful Central Church in Inglewood hosted the 19th Annual All-Star Gospel Celebration. This special evening celebrated Gospel music, along with honoring notable figures in sports and the community.

The event featured an impressive lineup of multiple award-winning recording artists. Grammy® Award winner Jekalyn Carr delivered an outstanding performance, captivating the audience with her soul-stirring songs.

Los Angeles’ own Deitrick Haddon energized the crowd with his powerful praise. Gospel singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, record producer, and pastor, Haddon is best known for performing progressive gospel and contemporary styles of music.

Dove Award-winning artist Phew inspired attendees and had them on their feet, while Otis Kemp, featuring rap artist Flo Rida, opened the celebration with uplifting songs.

The All-Star Gospel Celebration was co-hosted by former NBA Lakers player Maurice “Mo” Evans, Dru Evans from the National Basketball Wives Association (NBWA), and comedian and radio host J-Red. This highly anticipated production has become a beloved tradition that combines entertainment, philanthropy, and inspiration.

Hometown heroes recognized for their contributions to the community included: – Zaire Calvin, Eaton Fire Survivor/Activist/Coach – Aundrae Russell of L.A. Radio KJLH – Community Activist Anthony “Shep” Crawford This year’s Slam Dunk Honorees for 2026 included: – 9-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook, who recently broke the NBA’s 47-year-old all-time triple-double record, surpassing Oscar Robertson – 3-time NBA Champion and NBA Coach of the Year Byron Scott – 4-time World Series Champion Mookie Betts – Actress and philanthropist Kiki Shepard – Bishop Kenneth Ulmer – Bishop Charles Blake
