People in Los Angeles

Qn. What’s an underrated spot that you love to go to in Los Angeles?

Dante ( Carpenter in Los Angeles)

“As far as food, I would say Marathon Burgers. It reminds me of old school Los Angeles style, Big cheeseburgers! It’s one on the Venice Beach Strip. I grew up in the Crenshaw district so I’ve seen the hustle and it’s really just good food.”

Theo Spears (Compton, California)

“I don’t have a favorite spot. I’m easy to please. Soul food is good. I try to stay away from fast food. I have a good time with my friends, co-workers and some classmates and meet up for a monthly breakfast at different spots. The last spot we went to was the IHOP in Compton. It’s Compton, so I try to give my business to the local economy. It’s a place I’m familiar with. I would recommend it.”

Karen ( Academia Los Angeles, )

“A spot that I feel is underrated is the Central American Corridor/Salvadorian Corridor in Vermont. That’s where the best Central American food is and you can’t find anything like that anywhere else in Los Angeles. Their pandusas are good. If I want chicken soup or beef soup that’s close to my mom’s, I go there. The people there are super chill, super nice, and family-friendly. They’re open really late, which is nice.”

Alonzo Slater (Musician & Club Manager at “The Tribe” in Inglewood)

“My favorite is the best burger on western & 178th, everything is good but I get the pork chop breakfast, chili cheese fries, hot wings, philly cheese steak, the list is long.”

Beni (Artist in Los Angeles )

“I don’t know if it’s underrated but Zaya in Los Angeles. There’s a lot of events and good food. It’s so warm and welcoming. I just finished up a residency there and they treated me well and showed love.”

James Miller (Standup Comedian in Los Angeles)

“My favorite underrated spot is Master Burger on Western and Vernon.”

Reverend Doctor Amber Marie Irving

“I love to go to the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center in Leimert Park. I like to go there and watch the shows and/or perform on open mic.”

Yashin (Student in Los Angeles)

“My favorite food spot is Storm Burger in Inglewood because I like burgers”
