NHS OF LA COUNTY CELEBRATES 15 YEARS WITH TASTE OF SOUL FESTIVAL

BUILDING FAMILY LEGACIES AND PROTECTING NEIGHBORHOOD HERITAGE

LOS ANGELES, CA — For 15+ years, Neighborhood Housing Services of LA County (NHS) has been proud to join the Taste of Soul annual festival, the biggest family reunion in Los Angeles and the ultimate celebration of community, culture, and connection. On Saturday, October 18, 2025, NHS joined the 20th annual festival on Crenshaw Boulevard, continuing its tradition of empowering families and new homebuyers through community involvement.

At our iconic housing pavilion, visitors stepped into a welcoming environment where they could learn how to buy, fix, keep, or sell their homes — and, most importantly, build legacies that last for generations. The NHS team shared vital information about our programs and services, including estate planning and the Don’t Move, Improve! Programs include the Greenline Home Program, Inglewood Homeownership Initiative, ADU Program, Historic Home Rehabilitation Program, and Senior Home Repair Program.

Founded by Danny Bakewell Sr., Taste of Soul has grown from 15,000 attendees in 2005 to more than 500,000 visitors today — all gathering to enjoy food, music, and fellowship. The event remains “a party with a purpose,” bringing together families, local leaders, and businesses to uplift and celebrate the vibrant soul of South Los Angeles.

As part of our ongoing mission to strengthen communities, we invite the public to continue the preservation of legacy at our upcoming:
