Mayor Bass Rally Union Workers & Launch Canvass With Supporters

Mayor Karen Bass joined union workers from across LA to rally supporters and launch a volunteer door-to-door program to talk to voters about why Mayor Bass is the only candidate in this race who has delivered for working Angelenos.
Mayor Bass won the primary in June, has led by a wide margin in fundraising support, and has the support of over 30 labor unions representing hundreds of thousands of workers going into November.

Mayor, Karen Bass has prioritized the needs of working Angelenos to create more good-paying jobs, stronger protections for workers, and create an economy that is growing for everyone.
- Building LA With Union Labor: Under Mayor Bass, City construction is being built by local union workers. Local hire, apprenticeship, and transitional-worker goals have all been exceeded — reinvesting nearly millions in wages back into LA neighborhoods. She also secured final approval of the $2.6 billion Convention Center expansion, creating 15,000 union jobs.
- Protecting Workers’ Paychecks: The Bass administration has recovered more than $5 million in stolen wages for 3,600 workers by enforcing prevailing, living, and minimum wage laws, and launched a new training program to protect and inform LA’s hotel housekeepers.
- Opening the Trades to More Angelenos: Through HireLAX and other programs, the City is building pathways into high-wage union careers as part of a plan to connect 50,000 Angelenos to living-wage jobs, apprenticeships, and training.
- Growing a Clean-Energy Economy With Good Jobs: Los Angeles hit its goal of creating more than 100,000 green jobs over a year early, and Mayor Bass helped secure a landmark clean-air agreement at the ports that safeguards thousands of good-paying jobs.
