“Harvest of Hope” Anderson Family Food Giveaway in Compton

Actor Anthony Anderson and his family, along with the City of Compton Department of Recreation and several community volunteers from organizations like the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, demonstrated the spirit of giving at their Harvest For Hope Food Giveaway in Compton on Sunday.

On November 23, at Compton’s Dollarhide Community Center from 2 to 4 PM, Anthony and the Anderson Family Foundation led a Thanksgiving food distribution, providing needy families with boxes full of groceries. They were also joined by community leaders, Mayor Emma Sharif, Councilwoman Lillie Darden, City Clerk Satra Zurita, and School Board Vice President Michael Hooper.

The event showcased the kindness and care that often go unnoticed in the community. It was also a testament to teamwork, as the process was very smoothly organized; families drove around the center and had their groceries loaded directly into their vehicles. Anthony Anderson, along with his family members and fraternity brothers, worked together to help families obtain holiday food.

Anthony was right there working the whole time, personally greeting every family that arrived, and many excitedly jumped out of their vehicles to take pictures with the popular film star. Overall, it was a day of blessings—a truly great day in Compton.
