CUSD Honors 2024 Teachers of the Year

Compton Unified honored its 35 Teachers of the Year from each of the district’s schools in an intimate ceremony held at Caldwell Elementary on Thursday, May 9.
The event kicked off with Superintendent Dr. Darin Brawley’s opening remarks, thanking all the teachers for their dedication and hard work within the schools. Next, in 2023, Compton Unified Teacher of the Year Rashanda McCruter from Kelly Elementary School talked about the difference each teacher was making in their students’ lives.
Then, the 21 Elementary School Teachers of the Year were recognized and called to the stage, followed by the Secondary School Teachers of the Year.

Lastly, the 2024 Compton Unified Teacher of the Year, Kaiyan Wang from Compton High School, was welcomed to the stage for a few remarks.
