Compton HS Class of ’25 Graduates With Special Guest Vice President Harris

Compton Unified School District 2025 High School Graduations
Compton Unified School District held its High School Graduation ceremonies on Thursday, June 5, 2025, for its four high schools. The award-winning school district celebrated the graduations of more than 1,100 scholars, representing a 93 %+ graduation rate, with a more than 87% college acceptance rate. This was the first graduation ceremony to be held at the new Compton High School Campus. The Compton High School Class of 2025 became the first class to graduate at the brand-new Compton High School campus!
Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise visit to the Compton High graduation as the personal guest of Student Board Member MyShay Causey. Myshay gave Kamala Harris’s husband a letter inviting the former Vice President to attend the graduation, and she showed up. What a great surprise for the graduates and the Compton community.

283 scholars graduated, with 87% accepted into two- and four-year colleges. A 90% financial aid completion rate was achieved, with colleges including Cornell, UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCI, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, Cerritos College, and many more. Nearly $500,000 in scholarships earned. Eleven Compton High graduates are heading to the Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. 12 Compton High scholars obtained a 4.0 GPA, with the Valedictorian GPA: 4.56
