Compton College Career and Resource Fair

The Adult Education and Workforce Development Department hosted the “Passport to Your Career” Internship, Job, and Resource Fair on Wednesday, March 26, at Compton College. This public event was held on the campus Quad and brought together several hundred job seekers, recruiters, college staff, and community members. Attendees had the opportunity to network and explore various career options and available community services.

Compton College presents this Internship and Job Fair in partnership with the State of California Employment Development Department, the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services, the county’s Department of Economic Opportunity, America’s Job Center of California, and the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board. Participating employers included KRA Corporation, Compton Unified School District, City of Long Beach, Los Angeles Unified School District, California State University—Dominguez Hills, the United States Navy Reserve, YWCA, Teach-LA, Drew CDC, and many more. Compton College President Dr. Keith Curry and Compton College Trustee Barbara Calhoun were on board. Compton Mayor Emma Sharif was invited to give a keynote address. The day was a little cloudy, and the event was held outside, but a lot was accomplished in Compton that will benefit many in the coming months.
