US Congresswoman Maxine Waters Meet and Greet the Compton Community

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, dozens of concerned Compton residents came out to Alma Pleasant’s restaurant on Compton Blvd to meet Auntie Maxine and get some good words of wisdom from one of the most powerful Black women in the US Legislator.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters is known to advocate for women, children, people of color and the poor. Serving her sixteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 43rd Congressional District of California, Waters has spent more than 40 years in public service. She represents a large portion of Los Angeles, including the communities of South Central, Watts, West Carson, Harbor Gateway, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Torrance, Lawndale, Lomita, Westchester, Playa Del Rey, and now Compton.
