Dominguez High Jersey Retirement for Former Dons Tayshaun Prince and Tyson Chandler

Compton Unified School District & Bobby Jones Growing Up Compton hosted a Jersey Retirement night for former Dominguez Dons basketball stars Tayshaun Prince and Tyson Chandler.
Prince, an Olympic gold medalist, and Chandler, an NBA All-Star, got a chance to visit their alma mater, receiving recognition for their careers and inspiring current high school students to achieve their dreams.
A ceremony was held in the library prior to the day’s game. Superintendent Darin Brawley, Board of Trustees President,Charles Davis, and board members Denzell Perry and Ayanna Davis were in attendance. Dominguez High Principal, Caleb Oliver and the men’s basketball team also joined, celebrating the two men with the Compton community.
Prince’s and Chandler’s jerserys were officially retired that night.
Prince spent most of his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons. Tyson played with the Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, and Los Angeles Lakers, but won his only NBA Championship with the Dallas Mavericks.
